Course Name: GWO-BSTR for 4 Modules (FAR, MHR, FAWR, WAH&RR)
Training Duration: 3 Days (Including Theory & Practical Training)
Training Time: 08:00 – 16:30
Delegate to Trainer Ratio: Theory 12 Students to 1 Instructor & Practical 12 Students to 3 Instructors.
Registration Fee: 24,000.00 Baht / Person.
Certification: Certificate to be issued by Global Wind Organisation (GWO).
Certification Validity Period: Statement of Attainment valid for 2 years from date of issue.
Training Location: 3M Safety Training Center Thailand /or Onsite.
Overview:
The aim of this course is to provide individuals with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to refresh and maintain the required level of competence as Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Safety Training (BST) ‘First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Working at Height & Rescue’ Module requirements. It is designed to accommodate personnel working in both the onshore and offshore sectors.
Target Audience:
Personnel who are work experienced to the global wind industry and required to renewal certificate as GWO qualification for site access. This course is suitable for both onshore and offshore access requirements in conjunction with supplementary GWO BST training modules.
Student Prerequisites:
Students should be physically fit and able to participate in moderately strenuous practical activities.
Students shall be following Drug / Alcohol Policy.
Students don’t were any short trouser and sandal to Training Center.
Student shall prepare and were Safety Boots for Training.
Document Prerequisite for Training:
- Medical Checkup Document.
- Copy of ID. Card /or Passport.
- Personal WINDA ID.
- Delegates must hold a valid (not older than 24 months) GWO-BST Training Certificate
BSTR - First Aid Module Learning Objectives:
The aim of this BSTR First Aid Module is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills from BST First Aid through theoretical and practical training so that Delegates can administer safe and effective First Aid in the wind industry in accordance with GWO BST/BSTR First Aid training as following:
- Delegates are able to demonstrate understanding of the importance of safely and correctly carrying out First Aid in accordance with the legislative requirements of their geographic location and according to the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) e.g. European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
- Delegates are able to identify and explain normal function, normal signs and symptoms of injuries and illness related to the human body.
- Delegates are able to demonstrate understanding and correct order of management in emergency situations in a wind turbine work environment.
- Delegates are able to demonstrate correct use of lifesaving First Aid using the Primary and Secondary Survey (“C”-A-B-C-D-E).
- Delegates are able to demonstrate correct use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
- Delegates are able to demonstrate correct use of First Aid equipment in First Aid Scenarios.
BSTR - Manual Handling Module Learning Objectives:
Delivery of the Manual Handling Refresher module covers same content, duration, learning objectives as described in BST Manual Handling. The Manual Handling training can consist of first time Delegates and refresher Delegates in the same classroom. The training is designed to allow the more experienced Delegates to contribute more actively and share their knowledge with the refresher Delegates. On completion GWO-BSTR Manual Handling module, students will be able to demonstrate competence in the theory and practice of the following:
- Health and safety legislation.
- Assessment of hazards and risks.
- Spinal anatomy and posture.
- Identify worker’s risk of developing muscular/skeletal injuries.
- Safe practices for manual handling including the correct handling of equipment.
- Identifying signs and symptoms of injuries related to poor manual handling.
- Planning lifts – TILE.
- Risk control and lifting techniques.
- Behavioural safety (causes/consequences of injury).
- Problem solving approach to manual handling in a wind turbine environment.
- Scenario based training - wind turbine environment.
BSTR – Fire Awareness Module Learning Objectives:
Delivery of the Fire Awareness Refresher module covers same content, duration, learning objectives as described in BST Fire Awareness. The Fire Awareness training can consist of first time Delegates and refresher Delegates in the same classroom. The training is designed to allow the more experienced Delegates to contribute more actively and share their knowledge with the refresher Delegates. On completion GWO-BSTR Fire Awareness module, students will be able to demonstrate competence in the theory and practice of the following:
- Health and safety legislation.
- Assessment of hazards and risks.
- Fire combustion and fire spread.
- Fire prevention.
- Identify any sign of a fire in a wind turbine environment.
- Contingency plans in a wind turbine environment.
- Smoke detection and emergency escape procedure.
- Actions required on discovering a fire.
- Correct operation and fire extinguishing by means of the firefighting equipment in a wind turbine.
- Scenario based practice.
- Practical operation of the firefighting equipment in a wind turbine to extinguish a fire.
BSTR – Working at Height & Rescue Module Learning Objectives:
The aim of this BSTR Working at Heights Module is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training so that Delegates can administer safe and effective Working at Heights in the wind turbine industry/ WTG environment in accordance with GWO Refresher Working at Heights training. On completion GWO-BSTR Working at Height & Rescue module, students will be able to demonstrate competence in the theory and practice of the following:
- Delegates are able to demonstrate knowledge of hazards and risks associated with working at heights in a WTG.
- Delegates are able to demonstrate correct identification of PPE, including identification of European/ Global Standard markings on harness, hard hats, lanyards and other PPE.
- Delegates are able to demonstrate the knowledge of and skills to correctly peruse inspect, service, store and correct fitting of harnesses, fall arrest lanyards, work positioning lanyards and other PPE.
- Delegates are able to demonstrate correct use of the relevant PPE, e.g. harnesses, fall arrest lanyards, guided type fall arresters and work positioning lanyards. These include correct identification of anchor points and correct ladder conduct.
- Delegates are able to demonstrate correct use of evacuation devices.
- Delegates are able to demonstrate how to approach rescue situations in WTGs and use rescue equipment efficiently.
Note: This cost is included as the following items below, when conduct training at 3M Safety Training Center Thailand:
- Basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be supported during Practical Training such as Safety Helmet, Safety Glasses, Coverall and Gloves.
- Meal Provided with Lunch and 2 Coffee breaks per Day.
